Leg vein internal rupture
My dad met with an accident last month. We checked with the doctor and he prescribed rest as the damage was done to internal muscles. Now there is puss flowing from his leg. The area around it has been red for almost a month. What kind of doctor should I consult and is there any kind of specialization needed.

Hello there. I can understand your concern. Firstly, wound care is most important. You need to clean the wound everyday with betadine solution and then apply T-bact ointment on it twice a day. Consult a general surgeon for further management, he will require a course of antibiotics also. Too much pus formation is there, do not delay. Best regards. Dr. Anil Kumar Jain.
