Leg thumb nail
Hello dr, Right leg thumb is paini left side nrar nail and its turns red,some pus is removed by press but having pain.cleaned by dettol and applied surfaz dusting powder.suggest if it is ok and shouls continue or ahould other powder or ointment should use. Thanks

This might be paronychia . So u have to consult a doctor for this , sometimes even surgery is needed . Just applying ointment or powder will not help .

Firstly take a Tetanus injection!!! Clean the wound and apply neomycin ointment !!! If any fever or any sign of infection consult

You can continue cleaning and dressing but sulfaz powder may not be enough. Since there was pus in the red area there is presence of infection. I will suggest using mupirocin ointment. Better to take an online consultation so that we can see the area infected and give proper suggestion and may be an antibiotic to take by mouth. Thanks
