LASIK query
1. Why does overcorrection/ under correction happens in Lasik surgery ? Up to how much power will a person be under/over corrected ? Does it happens in 100% of the cases? 2. Do Femtosecond Laser lasik results in any complication of flap? Especially for borderline steep corneas. ( Too thin flap, buttonhole flaps etc) 3. Is the overcorrection or under correction due to the low expertise of the surgeon? What if the surgeon has 20+ years experience in performing lasik? 4. Can a person go blind after Lasik? 5. What if my prescription changes by a minute amount (+-0.25) just before the day of surgery? Will I be over or under corrected? How do the surgeons deal with that? 6. Recovery period after lasik? When will I be able to prepare for my competitive exams ?

over correction or undercorrection is done in consideration of post operative recovery  and it depends on surgeon to surgeon depending upon his experience with the machine. hencr experience definitely play an important role but it is not in terms of years but depends on how many surgeries one has performed. until there is flap complications chances of getting blind are rare if you want to get operated choose an experienced surgeon with a higher end machine. and trust him.
