Lack of Enthusiasm and Concentration
I am finding it difficult to concentrate on my daily office work. I was very enthusiastic in my college days. But now , I am not finding that charge. I have tried doing many things. I have tried mindfulness techniques, excercise, reading books etc. But I am not consistent in maintaining that disciplines. While working often I got diverted. I open my mobile and start browsing irrelevant things.

Good day my Friend,  I can understand your concern. Boredom, lack of interest,  lack of concentration or focus, fear, insecurity etc are early symptoms of depression.  Be positive. It's an addressable issue if are willing to make few mindset changes, dietary changes, lifestyle changes and follow few techniques. Be aware,  every individual is unique due to their upbringing, culture, society, lifestyle, environment, food habits, education, family values etc. So there is no one fit solutions for all. General advices, Google search, youtube videos won't give better results in handling individual's emotional disturbance. You need a have  human touch  to ventilate your feeling and  emotions to identify the root cause of your problems . Then suitable solutions and therapies plan can be identified jointly. As you had mentioned that you were on fluoxtine 20 mg since last 7 yrs for OCD. May have been asked to do mindfulness technique and etc. For OCD medicine , behavioural modification and cognitive behaviour therapy are highly recommended treatment plan for best results.

Hello human, thank you for reaching out. We understand your problem and will do our best to help you! As you have mentioned, our mobiles are our biggest distraction. To combat it, you may shut it down or put it on ‘Do Not Disturb’ mode while working. You can also use the ‘Screen Time’ feature to track your phone activity and try to limit it. There are also focus apps that disable your phone social media temporarily to ensure that the user can focus. Some other self-help tips include: Identify what distracts you and eliminate it Take short breaks so as to not burden yourself Maintain a healthy diet, drink enough water, get ample sleep and physical exercise. Practice meditation and/or yoga Lack of enthusiasm and inability to concentrate are both symptoms of an underlying issue. If this problem has been occurring for a while now, to the extent it is harming your healthy functioning, you may need to consult a psychologist. Your concentration issue could be because of pandemic situation, work from home, maybe that you are unhappy about the job itself., etc., To get a clarity and to seek solutions, it is better to consult a psychological Counselor..
