Suraj, your results are reassuring overall. The most important observation is that your liver enzymes are improving: ALT (SGPT) has fallen from 84 to 76.6 U/L, and AST (SGOT) has decreased significantly from 82 to 46.5 U/L. This trend suggests that the liver injury is resolving rather than worsening. Current international liver society guidelines recommend evaluating the underlying cause rather than repeating liver enzymes alone. Your glucose profile is excellent: HbA1c 5.0%, fasting glucose 86 mg/dL, making diabetes very unlikely. Your lipid profile is also satisfactory except for HDL cholesterol of 36 mg/dL, which is mildly low. Low HDL is often associated with physical inactivity, excess abdominal fat, smoking, poor sleep, or genetic factors. At present, lifestyle measures is the first line recommended treatment for isolated low HDL.
Next Steps
1. Exercise ≥150 minutes/week with resistance training 2. lose 5–10% body weight if overweight 3. avoid alcohol 4. limit sugary drinks 5. Review all medications and supplements with your physician.
Health Tips
See a Doctor & consider getting an ultrasound of the liver and also screen for viral hepatitis & consider repeating liver function tests in 6–12 weeks.
