Joint pains every year from October to February. Some times it will be heavy if i use more number of steps during the day

Hamstring stretching Towel Hamstring Stretch Lie on the back, supporting the thigh with the hand or with a towel wrapped around it.. Slowly straighten the knee until a stretch is felt in the back of the thigh, trying to get the bottom of the foot to face the ceiling, one leg at a time. Hold the position initially for 10 seconds, and gradually work up to 20 to 30 seconds. Seated Hamstring Stretch While sitting at the edge of a chair, straighten one leg in front of the body with the heel on the floor. Then, sit up straight and try pushing the navel towards the thigh without leaning the trunk of the body forwards. Hold this stretch for 30 seconds Repeat 3 times for each leg.

It might be age related and a regular age appropriate flexibility and strengthening exercises will keep you comfortable in any weather. Rather than resorting to meds incorporate physical fitness and flexibility regime.

Sir, at your age joint pains during winter are sign of arthritis. Unfortunately the cold weather aggravates the symptoms of arthritis. The reason why the knee may get heavy at times is because of the inflammation and swelling associated with knee arthritis. We would need to evaluate which joints are the most painful and concentrate on the treatment of those. As far as knee arthritis goes treatment involves physiotherapy, knee, exercises and Anti inflammatory medications. Certain oral medications and knee injections are also available to increase the lubrication of the knee. Knee braces may also help some people. These are some of the current modalities of treatment for knee arthritis.
