Jaundice diagnosis
My friend has been diagnosed with jaundice... His direct bilirubin is 26.7 mg/dl & total bilirubin is 36.4 mg/dl, both of which are very high.. Is giving banana and horlicks advisable? He is drinking sugar cane juice too. Can you please suggest some home remedies, etc, & generally how long does it take to be cured?

First of all "Jaundice" is a symptom..It is not a "Diagnosis".You will have to find out the cause for jaundice..Check  the ALT and AST levels? He will need an ultrasound scan of abdomen,to look for any liver disease or stone in gall bladder, which might be causing an obstruction.
