Hi... Stalopam Plus Tablet is a combination of two medicines: Clonazepam and escitalopram, which has anxiety-lowering and mood-enhancing effects.
Clonazepam is a benzodiazepine (BZD) which increases the action of GABA, a chemical messenger that suppresses the abnormal activity of the nerve cells in the brain.
Escitalopram is selective serotonin reuptake inhibitor (SSRI) which increases the levels of serotonin, a chemical messenger that improves mood.
Please never increase or decrease the dosage or duration of your prescribed Medication without Psychiatric Consultation.
Side effects of any medication (including Psychiatric medications) are always much much less then their positive effects. It takes lots of Clinical trials to qualify as a medication.
For anxiety, counselling works much better in the long run. Start taking Counselling Sessions on Weekly basis.
Next Steps
Consult a Psychiatrist for medication and a Psychologist for Counselling.
Since stalopam is a SSRI you would have to consult with the doctor who prescribed it to ensure you are taking the medication correctly . SSRI’s normally take some time to have its effects. Do not stop taking the medicine without doctors recommendations as it may cause imbalances.
