My mother who is 66-years old requires to undertake a lasik surgery to prevent her vision from further deterioration. She is quite healthy otherwise but we’re still unsure if a woman her age should undergo such a medical procedure. Can someone from the medical community tell us if lasik is safe? Are there any serious health problems associated with the surgery?

Hello
I personally would not advise LASIK at this age for the indication that you mentioned
LASIK is a very safe procedure
LASIK is a refractive surgery to get rid of glasses..it can't prevent vision deterioration.
Vision deterioration at this age could be due to cataract, retinal disease etc
Kindly share her case file so that I may guide you better
