Is it Hernia?
Hello doctor, I have been observing a bulge above( about 5cm) the navel towards right side. I don't have any pain or discomfort but looks like hernia. This is there since 4th month of pregnancy. I had a c sec in Feb. I wanted to get clarifications on the following? 1. Which specialist should I contact for hernia? General physician? 2. If its hernia and its asymptomatic, can I delay the surgery for a year? I am breastfeeding my baby and I have no help at home so getting a post operation rest is extremely difficult

Hello Based on the findings and history given by you , it does look like hernia , but it's better to confirm the diagnosis before conclusion. You need to visit a general surgeon and get a imaging study like ultrasound abdomen - which easy and less time consuming. You can delay the surgery if it's asymptomatic . Main problems you will encounter if you delay are - pain , obstruction causing constipation and vomiting and increase in size of hernia .so watch for these symptoms if you decide to delay. Better to get it checked , confirm the diagnosis and then decide on next approach.
