Is dilation necessary for eye-checkup?
I consulted a new opthalmologist today for my routine eye-checkup for myopia. My new doctor didn't use eye dilation drops to check the health of my eyes, he told me to look into a machine for sometime then asked me to some read letters and all and gave me a new prescription for glasses. Is it ok if my doctor gives a prescription without the dilation procedure?

It is ok if you don't have high myopia. But in cases of high myopia a dilated examination is a must .
