Irregular periods.
Iam a medical student and for my irregular periods due to PCOD (experiencing for past 3 month) I was prescribed for ovral L.
1.Is it ok to take after 8 th day of my periods as the first dose.
2.Will I gain weight due to this drug prescribed.
3. I couldn't understand the mechanism of action behind this drug.

Hello!
1. It is best to be taken within first 5 days of cycle
2. Unlikely if taken as short course treatment.
3. You are taking the hormone externally so that it suppress your hypothalamo pituitary axis which could be dysfunctional and thus causing irregular cycles.
