Irregular periods from past 3 months

Asked for Female, 26 Years

I haven't got my periods after August. I have checked with pregnancy test kit 3 times. The test are negative. My family doctor asked me to take deviry 10mgs twice a day regularly till the period come...Is this the correct way.. Please guide
