I started having problem falling asleep a few months ago. When I do, I get dreams that make me feel anxious. There are occasions when I get a feeling of fright, followed by oversweating. I have even fainted a few times.

Hi I understand with your statement that, you are feeling anxious of something, related your personal or academic life. Due to this  you may not be having proper intake of food as you have expressed there is feeling of insomnia, leading to physical problem. Please dont hestitate to visit psychiatrist or psychologist in your place, you need to be analysed and they will guide you in a better way.
