I have a 42 days old son and he has been diagnosed with inguinal hernia and doctor has recommended a surgery for him.. But I read somewhere that the weight if the baby has to be more than 10 kgs.. And my son is weighing 4.10gms..so should I I go ahead with the surgery or wait for his weight to increase?? Though I have met pediatrician surgeon he has not mentioned anything about the weight.. Plss suggest what can be done..what are the risk involved in the surgery?

The complications of hernia are obstruction, incarceration, strangulation of bowel better go for surgery as soon as possible, there is no weight criteria.
