Ingrown hairs and scarring down under

I’m a light skin African American, I’m trying to be more confident for swimsuits about the area where I get waxed (pubic area but mostly just the area above the actual vagina and under the belly button) I get ingrown hairs but waxing helps over shaving so I wanted a product to help get rid of them and I have a lot of dark scars from trying to get them out myself, I stopped picking at them I just wanted to know what would help the skin down there and the scarring
