I have the habit of peeling off the skin which is right next to my nails, which sometimes results in getting infected. It happened quite a few times, right now it is taking more time for it to heal than before. Im scared that it got terribly infected. It doesn't look any different from the previous time.

fungal infections of the nails are quiet common....avoid this habbit of peeling of skin or else u mi8 be infected with bacterial and fungal infections
if pain increases or blackening of ur nails occur contact dermatologist.
