Infected pilar cyst

I have a infected pilar cyst on my face, near the ear. My dermatologist has prescribed t bact ointment and some antibiotics to cure it however no reduction is seen. Any suggestions as to what to do next and if the treatment given is enough? What are the possible consequences? It's almost 1 cm in radius.
