Hi my son is 4months old. He has prolonged jaundice. After giving phenobarbitone syp unconjugated bilirubin level has come down from 5.8 to 2.7. Now Dr asked to do cmv virus blood test. It has come IgM positive titre ultrasound abdomen is normal study with small gall stones present, no organomegaly, my son is normal and active. Is it something to worry seriously

Hello. The child needs further evaluation before we can say anything. This includes hearing assessment, eye examination and blood tests(liver function test, blood counts) and other blood test to confirm if he really has CMV infection.
