I'm afraid I have Arithmomania.
Since I can remember, I've had the constant habit of counting the steps as I walk up and down stairs. I thought nothing of it other than a little quirk until it recently started to get worse. Lately, I've been constantly counting steps, how many times I chew something, clicks of an oven fan for example. Anything that has repetition I have the sub-conscious habit of counting and it's driving me crazy. The only time I can stop it from happening is when I listen to music.
