Hi! Dry skin can generally be managed by simple modifications in your lifestyle and topical applications of prescribed creams. But if it serious, then medical treatment is must before it gets worse. First I would like you to confirm me some of the things before I can accurately guide you for the right line of treatment - are you allergic to anything like dust, pollen grains, certain chemicals or any unknown factor that increases your dry skin condition? Does dry skin condition run in your family? How long have you been suffering from dry skin? If you experience dry skin only when weather changes then it can be managed by topical application of antioxidant based moisturisers and simple massage with hydrating oils. Make sure you keep your bathing time short and bathe only with cold or lukewarm water. After bathing immediately apply moisturiser on moist skin. Also make sure you drink at least 2 litres of water everyday to keep your skin supple and eat plenty of fresh fruits and vegetables in your daily diet. Including dry fruits and nuts will also provide essential vitamins for good skin health. If you have long term dry skin conditions and you are allergic to certain chemicals then I would advise you to take right treatment under the guidance of a dermatologist. After a detailed assessment of your medical history, specific antibiotics and medicated creams and moisturizers can be prescribed to you.
