Which foods are harmful and must be avoided in hypothyroidism? Which food should be preferred in this case?

Generally no food is contraindicated in hypothyroidism. You can stick to every healthy diet advices after consultation with your doctors. Only caution is needed during Soya product intake as it reduce the absorption of l- thyroxine tablet (which is used to treat hypothyroidism). So better to avoid soya products.

Once hypothyroidism is set in. You need Thyroxine as replacement. You need to take iodized salt. Most of the salt available in India is iodized any way. Apart from that, you can eat any healthy food you wish to.
