Hypothyroidism &scizophre
Taking thyroxin 50mg from last 5/6 years along with tab oleanz 10 mg she is feeling weakness ,sleeping most of the time, forgetful,gaining weight,her thyroid test done few days back indicate normal T3&T4 where as Her TSH is high.I have read that there is no need to give thyroxin in such cases another view is that it should be given lifelong . please advise. Thanks.

She needs lifelong treatment. Infact if her tsh is high , her dose needs to be increased. Only a select cases who are not already on thyroxine treatment and with a slightly raised tsh may not require treatment. Her case is different.
