Can soy protein supplement like nutrilite trigger hypothyroidism? Actually I had family history of hypothyroidism but I wasn't and was taking Nutrilite protein, after a year I developed symptoms of Hypothyroidism. And now my TSH is 27 and am taking thyroxine 100.

Hello.... Hypothyroidism is due to decreased thyroxin harmone. It s commonly associated with weight gain and irregular period..... One need to take medications regularly.. Its long term problem..you should limit their intake of broccoli, Brussels sprouts, cabbage, cauliflower, , turnips,......protein supplements have nothing to do with hypothyroidism
