Hypothyroidism and Pregnancy
Hi Doctors, My Wife is a pregnant, currently 6th week from conception. She is suffering from Hypothyroidism since three years. Yesterday we have tested for TSH and we were shocked by seeing the report. The report says below. Thyroid stimulating Harmone (TSH) Test Technology - C.M.I.A Units: µIU/ml Value  >100 Units Reference Range - 0.35 to 5.5 Method: Fully automated chemi luminescent microparticle Immunoassay Pregnancy reference. 1st Trimester : 0.10 to 2.50 2nd Trimester: 0.20 to 3.00 3rd Trimester : 0.30 to 3.00 I am very much worried about this report. As per my knowledge thyroid functionality is very important for baby's health. But there is a huge difference here and I am worried a lot now. Is there any chances of delivering an unhealthy or premature or physically or mentally disabled baby? Can anyone explain what exactly the report says? How to make sure this problem should not effect our baby.
