Hypo Thyrodism
I'm 3 months pregnant now and having Hypo Thyrodism result (4.4)using Thyronorm medicine 25 mg per day and is the dosage enough to cure my problem and also want to check whether will it effect the growth of my baby.. Do I need to consult separate Thyroid specialist to control the problem earlier please let me know.

Hi Practo user, Thyroid hormone is a growth hormone. It's demand is increased during pregnancy,so generally the TSH level reaches upper limits or beyond that. 4.67is the upper limit, you must be prescribed 25mg because TSH levels are borderline. You don't need more than this. Thyroid hormone helps normal growth of the foetus. Take it regularly during pregnancy as prescribed. You might not be needing it post delivery.
