Hyperthyroidism
Cough, slight swelling in lower part of neck, tonsil pain. Basically cold n cough. I went to buy over the counter medicine when the shopkeeper noticed the swelling in my neck. He suggested me to go for a thyroid checkup. I have already gave my blood samples today morning and I will be getting the reports by tomorrow morning. I needed to consult a doctor after that.

The swelling in the throat need not be necessarily related to thyroid disease. Please consult a General Physician first before concluding you have thyroid disease. Many times Upper respiratory tract or lower respiratory tract infections also present with such symptoms.
