Hyperplastic squamous epithelium of tong
Dear Dr's.. I was diagnosed with hyperplastic squamous epithelium of tongue no evidence of granuloma and malignancy seen it was my biopsy report dated 16/08/2018. But still i feel sensation on the both side of lateral border of tongue the inflammation is same as it was. Can I go for surgical removal of lession. Can you tell me even after surgical removal it can develop in malignancy..?? as recently shown to ent/mds/onco but they all are saying no need of surgery unnecessary but I want to do surgical removal. Pls let me know after surgery how many days it will take to heal and also let me know is there any chances of getting cancer after surgery.

Needs clinical evaluation. As there are many pre cancerous conditions. Main reason is tobacco consumption in any form. First is to stop taking tobacco. Second is close follow up. Multivitamins should help. Surgery might cause scarring at the site and there might be functional disturbance. Surgery is suggested only when it is suspicious or proven cancer. Please consult a good surgeon.
