Hyperglycemia & Hypothyroidism
Suman , 47 years , female suffered from intra cranial hemorrhage.  on 30th april,doctor findings were 541 b.sugar level. Hyperglycemia. And she never had diabetes earlier. Thyroid she has since last 12 years, for which she takes 75mg thyroxine tab empty stomach. TSH latest on 3rd may  was 112. Earlier she had corona from 11 april to 23rd april. She was feverish for 7-8 days. D-Dimer was 1.15 CRP level was 12 . TLC was 9500. On 30 th , she got semi unconscious I'm evening and saliva came out of mouth. She immediately urinated on bed without senses. Now problem is her sugar levels are increasing on oral intakes as today she took 15 grapes and 50 ml water melon juice and sugar went up to 350. For healing of brain injury, sugar levels have to control. Thyroid levels to maintain with in limits. What is advise and how to pursue on this problem ? Right now mannitol is going twice a day. I.v. Inj. Levicitram BD Inj. Phenytoin BD NS 1500ml in 24 hours Insulin was .today 10 units in NS.

Mannitol can raise her sugar levels . Since she is in hospital,the sugar is best managed by the doctors in the hospital. Covid infection and medications used to treat it in the past can also increase sugar. If sugars and thyroid levels remain uncontrolled after discharge, advise to consult online
