What are your triglyceride levels? Normally triglyceride levels go up in pregnancy. The complications to the fetus and mother resulting from the high triglyceride levels depend on the actual levels. Levels over 1000 can cause pancreatic inflammation/ pancreatitis in mother. Generally unless the levels are very high, dietary counseling and exercise are recommended to keep levels in check. Safety of medications is less known or studied and not recommended as first choice unless levels are very high
Next Steps
Please send a report of your latest triglyceride levels and rest of lipid panel
