How to get rid of facial scars

Hi, I had an accident what gave me 15-17 stitches below my left eye resulting an uneven muscle and uneven color tone , for ur information let me tell you the scar is not because of the stitch but its the scar tissue from the wound area . Although the color has pretty much recovered to normal skin tone but the scar tissue is still there , the accident was 8 months old. So could you suggest any ointmeNts or medicine which will help .
