HIV testing
My last possible exposure was 6years back where I received oral sex. After 6 years of possible exposure I did a 4th generation CMIA antigen and antibody test which is non reactive. But while I did the test I was using corticosteroid nasal spray to treat allergic rhinitis. I read that steroids cause immunosuppression and reduce the HIV antibodies so that it cannot be detected by HIV antibody test and cause a false negative. I repeated the test after one month and in this 1month I did not use the corticosteroid nasal spray. Now also it is non reactive. Can I consider my test accurate? Are there any chances of false negative?
