Hirsutism and Pregnancy
I had diagnosed with ideopathic hirsutism 2 yrs ago and hence my doctor prescribed me aldactone and finast 5mg .As I was bachelor and difficult to face problems in official and social life with facial hair I started the treatment with medications along with laser .I have got married few months back but I still take these medicines and the doctor I used to visit is in different town and is not reachable .Now my concern is when can I stop these medicines to get pregnant ? Can I stop this suddenly or it has to get stopped gradually .I am scared if it can cause some issue in my pregnancy?

Aldactone can cause birth defects in the baby and there is not enough safety data on Finast use during pregnancy . Therefore if you’re planning pregnancy it is recommended that you stop taking both before conceiving. It is ok to stop it abruptly, without any problems, however you may notice increase in hirsutism symptoms after you stop taking it.
