Highly diabetic father is covid +
My 60yr old father is Covid positive. He is highly diabetic and had a heart attack in his early 30s. He is taking covid meds at home. His oxygen and fever readings are absolutely normal and have no other symptoms as well, but diabetes readings are above 260 premeals and above 340 post meal. I am worried if high diabetes will make his covid worst. Please suggest if we should hospitalise him or increase his insulin intake. He takes 40units before breakfast and 20 units before dinner.

Titrate insulin levels according to blood sugar levels..if its well within the normal range, then nothing to worry. Just monitor frequently and  give good care.

If your taking care at home monitor and record blood sugar level at home for atleast 3-4 times a day, when ever u check it should be above 70 and below 200 (max). Titrate the insulin dose as directed by the physician.
