Hello sir last year , I diagnosed with subclinical hypothyroidism 9.2 with high cholostrol I use medicine for 4 month of thyroid and quit , 2 month of lipcatd 160 quit by doctor and loosed my weight limit my dairy Now my tsh comes to 7.4 with normal t3t4 And without any antibodies, Now when I taje lipid profile my lipoprotein a show 91.29 md/dl My doctor said nothing just run and low carb low fat diet , Now when I search web , I am scared as saw its genetic and there is no medicine for lpa, and its independently cause heart attavk and premature death ? Please help me

Yeah. Lipoprotein a to some extent predicts the lifetime risk of atherosclerosis disease. It unfortunately does not alter much with diet, exercise and till date all the drugs to reduce it are in experimental state. As of now, nothing much can be done for elevated lipoprotein a. But if there is elevated lipoprotein along with abnormal lipid profile. The odds of having atherosclerotic diseases are much higher. So better to focus on the lipid profile which can be corrected with diet, exercise and medication if needed, rather than worrying about something that cannot be altered.
