Got high heamoglobim and pcv in test..he is a regular smoker and is having breathing problem,chest pain occasionally and cough what does it mean?

It can happen in chronic smokers which happens in late stage COPD PATIENTSIts a compensatory mechanism of the body. Thos is not a good sign.
