High Hba1c in first trimester
My wife is nine weeks pregnant, and her HbA1c is 8.5. She has started an insulin course. Can she expect a healthy baby? Right now, ultrasound scans are normal. A heartbeat is seen.

Hello Ideally it is not advisable Hba1c >6.5% increases the risk of Fetal congenital anomalies especially when the levels are high in first 12 weeks of pregnancy Please connect online for detailed advice
