Hello, Large amounts of folic acid can mask the damaging effects of vitamin B12 deficiency . There are indications that high serum folate levels might not only mask vitamin B12 deficiency, but could also exacerbate the anemia and worsen the cognitive symptoms and neurological symptoms associated with vitamin B12 deficiency. Low levels of B12 can cause numbness and tingling sensation, paresthesia(neuropathies). If B12 levels are normal then you need to orthopedician to look for bone disorders.
