Dear patient,
You can get a thyroid test done if you are suffering from any of these complaints like hair fall, protruding eyes, excessive weight gain in the recent past, fading memory, tremors (shivering of the fingers), heat or cold intolerance, excessive sweating, irregular menstrual cycle and rough skin.... In such cases you can get a T3, T4, TSH levels checked and if any value is abnormal you can immediately consult a general physician who starts you on appropriate treatment and if all the values are normal then it suggests that your thyroid gland is functioning normally.
