Hello There.
I can understand your concern. here is the thing about
hemosiderin staining- when there is a hematoma (blood clot), the blood clot resolves when the RBC's breakdown and get absorbed. the broken RBC release IRON, which is very toxic by itself. so to deal with this iron, something called a "apoferritin" comes and join this iron to form a thing called "ferritin", many such "ferritin" join to form "hemosiderin".
therefore hemosiderin indicated that there was a blood clot happened there.
what medicine he has given if not an issue in your child.
continue as directed and go for regular follow up.
best regards,
Dr. Anil kumar jain.
Hello User. Due to the chronic hematoma ( a condition where there is probably a blood clot), there is a chance that the brain waves may be affected, so the consultant has adviced this medicine. It is absolutely safe to use this. The condition requires full care of the child and continuous monitering to avoid any future complications. Do meet the consultant at regular intervals.
