Heart palpitation medication
Hi I am a 19 year old Male experiencing heart palpitations every day. Sometimes I will have 5-10 palps per minute and other days I will only have 20 throughout the whole day. I got prescribed metoprolol 25mg and it has been pretty much solving the problem. My question is, is it safe to take this drug for the rest of my life? I do not want to have a catheter ablation operation done. Thank you for any input.

Metoprolol is a safe drug. You probably have a PSVT. If you have an episode of palpitation on Metoprolol, then you will have to look at RFA
