Hello Mr. I read ur friend problem ,two I things I want to address you. 1. Headache 2. Mood disorder 1. Headache has numerous causes. Some     common causes are:         * Anaemia       * Blood pressure (high/low)       * Refractory error ( eye sight pblm)       * Ear ,nose and dental cavity pblms         * Any infection ( viral / bacterial/ protozoal)       * Migraine       * Tension headache.       * Cluster headache       * Organic brain damage or insult.       * Somatoform / psychogenic headache       * Any drug or substance use/abuse.       * Headache associated with sex or menstrual          cycle.       * Improper sleep Now as a doctor I would like to know the site, intensity, duration , aggravating /relieving factors for headache or any other specific things to rule out . So one thing u have to understand its not justice to comment on the headache , based on ur question. 2. Mood disorder :     Any body pain or pathology can cause mood     disorder or mood disorder can cause body      pain or headache. So its very important to      know which started first. At this age Mood disorders can be presented as       1.  Bipolar disorders       2.  Unipolar mood disorder       3.   Somatoform disorder       4.   Adjustment disorder       5.   Factitious disorder       6.   Substance induced       7.   Menstrual cycle induced       8.  Prodromal stage of psychosis       9. Personality disorders So again you wud have understood it's not easy job to diagnose the problem just by ur question ,long conversation needed to rule out above all causes and make a conclusion. I am not scaring you ,may be she is may not have any of above problems but without ruling out all above  causes it will not appropriate and right to help you.
