Headache (2-3yrs)
My mother has headache since 2-3yrs, mainly over anterior half of scalp, it comes once or twice in 10 days, associated with marked weakness of whole body, phonophobia , for this she has consulted a neurologist ,he diagnosed her as migraine, and she was prescribed sertaline. But she develped dependency on sertaline, whenever she missed the dose ,she used to have headache on the same day. Then last year i took her to nimhans ,they started her on amitriptyline, diagnosed her with vascular headache. They asked her to come aftr 3 months but she failed to follow up. Since 6-5 months she again suffered same problem. Today she has done her mri brain as suggested by local doctor and mri report shows mild diffuse cerebral and cerebellar oedema. She is going to neurologist clinic tomorrow. Kindly opine us.

It is atrophy and not oedema as u have pointed out.. mild changes are frequently age related and not to worry about the same. Regarding her headache, amitriptyline is a good drug which she needs to continue.
Next Steps
consult the neurologist and I form that amitriptyline has worked for the headache previously
