Hcv test time
Hello doctor a hair dresser used a blade which I feel was not changed. I didn't got any blood and nor there was any blood on the blade but i dont know if they changed it or not. So i want to know after how long to test for hcv antibody. And is antibody test enough to detect hepetitis C?

The risk of transmission if there is no break in skin is very minimal. Still, if your suspect the blade was contaminated. Get an HCV Antigen and antibody Test done after 6 weeks or sooner if any symptoms develop like fever, nausea vomiting, jaundice, abdominal pain. Antibodies don't develop too soon so a gap of about 6 weeks is enough.
