My husband was detected with hepatitis C, in his HCV RNA test. However the values are to low i.e 34im/ml. He has started his medication for three months i.e. Sovihep V. I got my self tested as well as advised by a gyne but i am not infected. Is this possible. Can i still get infected? What precautions should be undertaken by me. Considering he is already on medication Nd the values are too low for him. Please advise.

Hello.
only anti Hepa C medications , called Direct acting antivirals ( DAA) can get rid off the virus from the body, after a proper evaluation is carried out before starting the therapy.
your husband has been given right combination of two DAA drugs which are very highly effective,> 95%.( Sofusbuvir and Velpatesvir) and he will be cured.
duration of trt is 12 weeks.
Next Steps
He will need to take a HCV RNA Viral load test ( quantitative) after 12 weeks of completing his 12 wks course, to see the result of the therapy.
This test is called Test of cure.
