HCQS is is an immunomodulator used in patients with Rheumatoid Arthritis and Lupus ,However you don't seem have either and yes it is occasionally associated with significant side effects predominantly affecting the eyes at low dose and heart at higher doses so unless indicated should be given for non inflammatory arthritis and not even in SPA

HCQS is a safe drug when prescribed by an experienced person to treat inflammatory Arthritis patients.
There are several side effects of the medicine listed on websites/Google, but the incidence of major side effects at such low dose is almost nil. Hence if you're very concerned you may speak to your consultant, you will be relieved .
Also, it is advisable for patients taking HCQS for long duration to have an annual retinal checkup .
