Hba1c and fasting sugar ok but pp high
Hi I am 28 weeks pregnant and I went through glucose challenge test in 26 th week. It was very high 202. My doctor further suggested me 3 tests which were fasting blood sugar that came out 78, post meal which was 150 (on higher side) as upper limit was 140 and HBa1C which was 5.4%. My doctor suggested me to follow a diet for GDM to control sugar levels and get it regularly checked. Everytime I check my sugar, fasting sugar is always normal but pp sugar is sometimes more than 144. It was 166 when I had a piece of sweet. I am unsure what does it indicate.

This is Gestational Diabetes Mellitus. HbA1C is not of any use here. The targets for fasting and post meal sugars are different for pregnancy. Your fasting should be less than 95 and 2 hr post meal less than 120. One hr post meal should be less than 140. The first step is dietary modifications and sugar charting.
