Hello parent!
Night time cough is usually due to a post nasal drip. The consequent accumulation of phlegm in the pharynx while sleeping causes the cough. Daytime the child keeps swallowing the same and there is no cough
You can use nasal saline drops twice or thrice a day but especially during evening time. It may be helpful to use a steam inhaler at bed time - can use the small commercial machine kept next to her for 5 min or may sit with her in the bathroom with a hot shower on so that she gets a steam for 5 min. Alternatively, simple sips of warm water during evening and night time when she gets up, will alleviate the symptoms
Please avoid milk at night while sleeping. It increases any phlegm, we don’t want unnecessary aspiration while coughing and in any case, night time milk feeds need to be discontinued at the age - it will cause the teeth to become carious. Try to give solid food before bed time. Fluids will cause easy reflux and increase any night time coughing

Hello parent!
I understand your concern. Usually after a viral fever the cough persists for a longer time about a week or 2
The reason for cough in the night can be due to multiple reasons
1. Her nose is getting blocked while sleeping and she's breathing through her mouth hence her throat gets dry and that triggers a cough reflex
2. There is still some irritation in the throat due to her viral illness
Next Steps
There are many things you can do to help with this
1. Home remedy: mix some honey with the juice of ginger and give her one teaspoon of it just before sleeping (tried and tested from experience)
2. give her a cough syrup relent plus (ambroxol+ Cetirizine) 2.5ml at night before sleep
3. if you feel like her nose is blocked you can use saline nasal drops or any menthol+ eucalyptus oil like carvol plus (2 drops on the pillow cover) just before sleeping
4. please avoid cow milk , you can continue breastfeeding
