Hard round surface around nipple

Hi doctor, My daughter is 5 months old. Today we noticed a hard round surface area in her right cheat area (around nipple). Left side is normal. We immediately consulted a doctor and the doctor said it will be okay in few months as that is common for many female babies. Is it common for most of the female babies?
