It is a protective mechanism of your body. Our bodies always try to maintain their core temperature, irrespective of the seasonal temperature variations and fluctuations. When it’s cold outside, the blood vessels in your hand contract a bit. This is to redirect more blood flow to your internal organs, which helps them keep warm and healthy. In other words blood flow is redirected from your hands and feet( extremities) to the core or to your internal organs. Lesser blood flow to the hands makes them a bit cold. Now coming to your point as to why only you have this. It depends on the female hormone estrogen. This hormone regulates the peripheral blood vessels. Higher levels of this hormone makes the blood vessels more sensitive to temperature. You would be having slightly higher levels of estrogen. That’s the reason you feel cold while your friends don’t. Just use warm clothes, keep sleeping warm beverages like green tea and you’ll be fine. Don’t worry.
